Synology Shared Folder Permissions Grayed Out

Recently, a backup target on my Synology NAS went offline. I was afraid that the folder had been corrupted and deleted. It was not visible in File Manger. It was still showing in Shared Folders, but the permissions tabs were grayed out:

I enabled SSH and viewed the folder in PuTTY and WinSCP. The folder was still there and appeared to contain data:

Oh, encryption! I had rebooted the NAS. Had it failed to re-mount the folder? Sure enough, I needed to edit the Encryption settings for the shared folder and check “Automount”. I was also able to manually mount the volume after providing the decryption key:
