Machine Online but Programs Can’t Connect

I maintain a remote Windows XP Pro workstation that’s three or four years old. Today I had a strange situation:  I could reach the machine using vPro and see that it was powered on, but it did not come up in LogMeIn. I eventually managed to connect to it using Remote Desktop and started diagnosing the problem.

W32Time Errors in a Hyper-V Virtual Environment

I am running Small Business Server 2008 SP2 under Hyper-V. On a Server 2003 member server, also running under Hyper-V, I was getting frequent W32Time warnings errors in the System event log (Event IDs 38, 24, and 29 in that order).
